Tudor gets into work mode.

Tudor’s dress watches don’t tend to generate as much buzz as its sports models, but we think that the new Glamour Double Date offerings might go some way to change that.

Like the hugely popular Black Bay and Pelagos collections that bank on throwback appeal to draw in the crowds, Tudor’s dress watches are similarly retro-inspired. While it is true that aesthetically, vintage styles translate better with sportier designs, Tudor’s efforts to imbue its dress watches with a measure of old-school sophistication deserves closer inspection.

While it appears pared-down at first glance, the Glamour Double Date is created with subtle chic and versatility in mind. The classic dress watch design gets elevated here, thanks to tastefully amalgamated details. The curvaceous double-stepped case, slim diamond indexes, contrast finishing and decoration on the dial, and of course, the double date window are harmoniously juxtaposed, despite seeming incongruous. At 42mm, the case is large too, ensuring a weighty presence on the wrist with its ‘modern’ size.

Elsewhere, the watch’s open caseback adds to the Glamour Double Date’s draw. It offers full view of the in-house automatic Calibre MT5641, which is COSC-certified and offers 70 hours of power reserve – a veritable workhorse in office attire.

And speaking of the office, the Glamour Double Date comes in several references that work their way up the corporate ladder, from steel versions and bi-metallic cases, to one with diamond markers on a champagne dial.
