Sinn’s Riotous Military-Themed PartyWritten by Alvin Wong
The invite for Sinn and The Hour Glass’ joint-event said ‘men only’.
5 December 2014, Brewerkz Microbrewery
True to the promise, guests were treated to the perfect guys’ night out, fuelled by a steady supply of beer and greasy bar grub, and attended to by attractive wait staff. It wasn’t just the alcohol and eye-candy that got the blood pumping, however. Known for ultra-robust diving and aviation tickers, the Frankfurt-based brand launched the U1-D Mission Dune that evening. A khaki- and safari print-clad, military-style iteration of the best-selling U-1 series, the watch is a boutique exclusive limited to 350 pieces to commemorate The Hour Glass’ 35th anniversary.
Alvin promises not to be a douche when talking about watches. He may have scoured the Basel and Geneva watch fairs for the past 15 years, and played an instrumental role to the growth of Singapore's pioneering horological and men's lifestyle publications, but the intrepid scribe seeks to learn something new with each story he writes.
