Rolex Sky-Dweller Ref. 326933: Singapore Price And Review

The bird is back!
An under-the-radar Rolex watch? Sounds incredulous but the Sky-Dweller might just be it. One of the most outstanding two-time zone watches on the market today, the Sky-Dweller doesn’t seem to quite enjoy the popularity it deserves, usually overlooked in lieu of the hotly coveted watch-brand-reviews/rolex/rolex-gmt-master-ii-ref-116710ln-singapore-price-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">GMT-Master II.
Introduced in 2012, the Sky-Dweller made headlines then for the automatic Calibre 9001 powering the watch – the first new complication from Rolex in almost 20 years, and one of the brand’s most complex movements ever.
An intelligent and functional timepiece, the Sky-Dweller’s best virtue then, as is today, is its ease-of-use. For one, it’s highly legible. The dial shows the second time zone with a 24-hour ring and a red pointer, as opposed to using a separate hour hand. Elsewhere, the month is indicated via 12 apertures that circle the dial alongside the hour numerals.
The most interesting feature, however, is the ‘Ring Command bezel’, a smart indication-adjustment feature that is proprietary to Rolex. By simply turning the bezel, the user can select the indicator that he needs to adjust – date, local time or home time – and use the crown to make the necessary changes.
Compared to the 2012 version, the new Sky-Dweller looks a lot more pared down – which is a good thing.
Instead of Roman or Arabic numerals to indicate hours on the dial as with previous versions, the new models feature baton indexes. This frees up space, allowing the dial to be easier on the eye. Another small tweak is on the hands, which are extended slightly to enhance legibility.
The new Sky-Dweller comes in two new executions – a steel and white gold model with navy dial, and the version featured here, in yellow Rolesor. (That is a combination of gold and steel in Rolex-speak.) It is the first time that the Sky-Dweller is clad in the unmistakably boss-like Rolesor grab, and dare we say that it looks every inch the high-flyer that the watch is meant to be.
