We always thought that the Rado True Square x Tej Chauhan was something special the moment we laid eyes on it. And our instincts were proven right. The bright canary-coloured watch is also a favourite among design luminaries, who recently bestowed it the Good Design Award, the oldest and most famous design prize handed out by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.

This marks the Rado True Square x Tej Chauhan’s third design award in a row, following its wins at the Red Dot Award and Grands Prix du Design Award. Released in 2021, the watch is part of a series of timepieces created in collaboration with designers from various fields.

Tej Chauhan, an award-winning British industrial designer known for his “emotive industrial design” that aims to “bring joy”, lavished his trademark amalgamation of shape, colour and materials on this Rado True Square watch. The lovely creation exudes a playful vibe in a matte yellow high-tech ceramic case, which is paired with a yellow leather strap with cushion-shaped elements. The black dial is marked with concentric circles featuring a date display with typeface designed by Chauhan, as well as blue indexes between 9 and 12 o’clock to demarcate the times of the day and night when things start to get going and wind down, respectively.
