NEW: Rado True x Great Gardens of the World

Three stunning Rado timepieces in full bloom.
Of all the things that inspires watchmakers, nature is surely high up on the list. We’ve seen dials and bracelets modelled after tree bark patterns, snowflakes, and even feathers. So it really comes as no surprise that Rado is once again partnering the network of beautiful Italian gardens, Grandi Giardini Italiani, to launch a new collection of timepieces that pay tribute to Mother Nature.
Having first teamed up in 2017, Rado and Grandi Giardini Italini now introduces three new ‘chapters’ with their latest collection, christened Rado True x Great Gardens of the World. Each 'chapter' is a different watch, inspired by different aspects of nature.
'Chapter 1'
‘Chapter 1’ is a feminine model with a 40mm monobloc case and bracelet in turquoise ceramic, with delicate jasmine flowers and leaves on the mother-of-pearl dial, decorated with filigree and cloisonné-style elements. Adding a touch of luxury are the rose gold-coloured hands and Top Wesselton diamond indices. A smoked sapphire crystal caseback offers a glance into the self-winding Calibre R763 with an impressive 80 hours of power reserve and anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring.
‘Chapter 2’ is a variation of ‘Chapter 1’, with all the same features and design. However, this version takes on a more mysterious façade with a polished black high-tech monobloc ceramic case. A matching mother-of-pearl dial is punctuated by engraved gold-coloured jasmine flowers and black leaves, while the black PVD-coated titanium back also features a smoked sapphire crystal, revealing the Calibre R763 within. Both ‘Chapter 1’ and ‘Chapter 2’ are available for S$3,610.
'Chapter 2'
Even more enigmatic and luxurious is ‘Chapter 3’. It features the same polished black high-tech monobloc ceramic case as ‘Chapter 2’, but with added bling for a bit more sparkle. The black mother-of-pearl dial is engraved with oak leaves and 20 Top Wesselton diamonds around a central gold-coloured ring. Twelve more Top Wesselton diamonds form the indices, while a rose gold-coloured moving anchor is found under the 12 o’clock index. Similarly powered by the Calibre R763, ‘Chapter 3’ is priced at S$3,920.
'Chapter 3'
It’s clear from four years of partnership that the collaboration between Rado and Grandi Giardini Italiani is producing much fruit. And when it looks as good as the three ‘Chapters’, it would be hard not to go picking around these gardens.
