The watchmaker expands on its Luna Rossa collection in anticipation of the upcoming America’s Cup.

Back in 2019, when Panerai first partnered with Luna Rossa for the 36th America’s Cup, CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué pointed out the obvious affiliation between the two brands and how he intended this to be a long-lived partnership. Five years on, the next America’s Cup is just around the corner, and Panerai is all set to take this partnership to the next level with a slew of high-tech Submersibles and one thrilling Experience Edition for sailing aficionados.

The first of these watches is the Submersible GMT Luna Rossa Titanio PAM01507, which features a new Super-LumiNova standard, X2, on its hour indexes and hands. The improved material offers greater luminosity for longer periods to light up the navy blue sunburst dial with a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, a small date window at 3, and a GMT hour hand with a 24-hour ring on the inner bezel. The 42mm watch case is in brushed grade 5 titanium, which is, of course, ideal for seafaring thanks to its corrosion resistance and durability.

Two new time-and-date Submersibles, the QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-Ceramitech PAM01466 and PAM01543, feature a new material to the brand – ceramised titanium. High-tech ceramic coatings are often applied to sailing parts in order to reduce or eliminate friction that can impact the performance and operation of a competition boat. Panerai has patented a deep blue ceramised titanium used in the cases and bezels of both models. The PAM01466 has a blue sunburst dial, and the PAM01543 comes with a white matte display.

The watch houses the hand-wound P.2015/T Tourbillon GMT calibre, which offers a power reserve of four days with twin barrels.
