Greubel Forsey x Sincere Fine Watches: Where The Brightest GatherWritten by Melissa Kong
A must-visit for watch buffs this weekend.
Building on the success of previous ‘Where the Brightest Gather’ campaigns, Sincere Fine Watches has teamed up with independent watchmaker Greubel Forsey to showcase some of their most spectacular creations.
In a world first, Greubel Forsey is exhibiting 20 impressive calibres at Sincere’s flagship boutique in Ngee Ann City. Included in the collection are the Double Tourbillon 30 Vision, GPHG 2015 ‘Golden Hand’ winner the Tourbillon 24 Seconds Vision, along with SIHH and Baselworld novelties from this year.
Of particular interest is the 2017 Grande Sonnerie (above) that took 11 years of R&D and counts as Greubel Forsey’s most complex creation to date with no fewer than 935 parts. An acoustic resonance cage lends the chime an incredibly pure timbre. Eleven security functions prevent the user from accidentally activating the watch, amongst other things. It makes its Singapore debut at this exhibition and, if your pockets are deep enough, will set you back S$1.845million.

Visit the showcase from now till July 11, 2017 at Sincere Fine Watches, Takashimaya Shopping Centre, #01-12, from 10.30am to 9.30pm daily.
Like most people these days, Melissa tells the time with her phone. She considers serious timepieces works of art and thinks the perpetual calendar is the handiest complication to date (pun not intended). She's also a Grammar Nazi but promises not to judge if you can't tell the difference between "guilloche" and "guillotine".
