Glashütte Original Is A Fan Favourite At Golden Balance 2017

No surprises there, really. But you read it here first.
Back in the December 2016 issue of CROWN magazine, which you can pick up here, we picked Glashütte Original’s Senator Excellence (below), featuring the brand’s latest in-house movement, as one of our favourite watches of the year. Just last month, the watch took second place at the Golden Balance Awards for timepieces priced up to €10,000.
But there’s more: the top award for timepieces priced up to €25,000 also went to Glashütte Original, for the Senator Chronometer.
The stately timepiece is distinguished by its no-nonsense dial with the brand’s trademark Panorama date display, as well as solid hand-wound movement with stop-seconds mechanism that snaps the seconds hand to 12 o’clock when the owner pulls the crown to set the time.
The Golden Balance awards ceremony, organised by Uhren-Magazin, is considered one of the most prestigious for German watch buffs. For the record, over 25,000 readers cast their votes, choosing from 285 different watches. Guess it’s nice to see a popular vote that actually counts for something.
