Luminox explores the oceans with new Pacific Diver models

Luminox brings waves of colours to its Pacific Diver.

The Pacific Diver is a new collection Luminox introduced last year with a specific focus that ties its military background with ocean conservation. A part of the proceeds from the sale of each watch goes to Force Blue, an organisation that retrains Navy SEALs and special forces veterans for conservation projects. These ongoing endeavours include coral replanting, surveying endangered species such as green turtles, and responding to national disasters.

The first Pacific Diver was a steel diving chronograph with a bezel in the brand’s patented Carbonox material. Coupled with Luminox’s tritium tubes and highly precise quartz movement, it’s an ideal watch for underwater ventures. The first series featured 12 black-dialled models with vibrantly coloured minute tracks, all-black versions with coloured tritium tubes, and a blue sunray brushed version in steel with a bracelet.

The Pacific Diver Chronograph for 2023

This summer, the brand has released three new versions of the Pacific Diver Chronograph as well as a time-only collection, the Pacific Diver Ripple. The three new versions feature coloured counters on black displays and a white-and-teal version that embraces the vivid hues of the oceans. The reference XS.3150 is in military khaki, and the XS.3155 is in burgundy red, with syringe-style hands and horizontal tritium markers.

The reference XS.3143 has a white dial with teal counters and is a limited edition with 710 pieces globally. Each of these watches has matching cut-to-fit rubber straps that are easily changeable, meaning you can customise them to your style.

The three counters of the watch feature a small seconds counter at 3 o’clock, a 30-minute totaliser at 6, and day of the week display at 9, with a small date window at 4 o’clock. The unidirectional rotatable Carbonox bezel has large oversized Arabic numerals that make it easy to read. However, they do not have the ISO 6425 diving countdown requirement typical in diving watches. The watch cases have two bumpers on each side, the right one doubling as crown guards for the screw-down crown with two water-resistant pushers so you can activate the chronograph underwater and monitor your diving time.

In addition, a new time-only Pacific Diver Ripple collection has also been introduced that’s designed for everyday dive watch wearers and sports watch aficionados. The 39mm collection is unisex and comes in various models with a five-link steel bracelet or cut-to-fit rubber strap. Both are interchangeable thanks to sliding pins on each strap type.

The collection features six models in steel, one of which is in black PVD-coated steel. Three of the models have mother-of-pearl dials that are textured and gently iridescent, and the other three have black, white or blue dials with matching straps or bracelets.

The watches are equipped with the Ronda 515 quartz movement with a date display at 3 o’clock and a Carbonox bezel with oversized numerals. They are water-resistant up to 200m and come with light blue and hot pink strap options. Prices start at S$925 and go up to S$1,150 for the sunray brushed blue dial version with bracelet. They are available at all Luminox authorised retailers and boutiques across the region.
