Longines Rocks Sweet Monochromatic Magic

Sexy makeovers for the DolceVita And La Grande Classique de Longines collections.

Longines DolceVita

What a refreshing switch-up this is for two of Longines’ most beloved women’s collections. The hugely popular DolceVita models, famed for their elongated and elegant silhouettes, as well as the La Grande Classique de Longines watches, which express timeless sophistication with svelte profiles, have long been go-to options for women who desire a touch of vintage-imbued sass in their daily wristwear. As much as we, too, are fans of classically inspired watches, they sometimes can appear staid and feel too entrenched in the past. This year, however, Longines shakes things up by lavishing a generous dose of colours on both collections, transforming the popular but failsafe timepieces into striking accompaniments that will invigorate any outfit.

La Grande Classique de Longines

Right in step with the recent trend for bright and colourful watches – with the likes of Rolex, Omega, and Cartier having rolled out their own sumptuously toned collections – Longines dresses the latest DolceVita and La Grande Classique de Longines models in bold, monochromatic shades.

And the shift in the watches’ demeanour is instantaneous. Regardless of the collection, the watches now emanate runway-worthy exuberance. Within each line, there are five colours to choose from: carmine red, spring green, burnt orange, cobalt blue, or natural black.

Longines does a great job matching the watches’ lacquered dials with the straps, ensuring the same richly toned uniformity throughout. Housed in rectangular steel cases, the DolceVita models come with dials featuring rhodium-plated small seconds displays. The 28mm round cased La Grande Classique de Longines models, while petite, exude a bit more glamour, courtesy of diamond-encrusted bezels, each set with 44 Top Wesselton diamonds.

Although we’d instinctively recommend that you give the all-black models a miss (it’s about being bright and vibrant with these new tickers, right?), on second thought, the stark raven variants look just as chic. As for the rest of the colours, it is really a question of preference. Whichever shade you land on, and whether it is a DolceVita or La Grande Classique de Longines model, you are guaranteed a shot of forthright flamboyance.
