Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Fagliano: Singapore Price And Review

Celebrating a beloved Jaeger-LeCoultre icon.
The story is an oft-regaled one: a polo player requested a watch that would be protected from the hard knocks inevitably be sustained during a match, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was born. Revolutionary for having a case that flips over for said protection, the Reverso is one of the most iconic timepieces to grace not just the Manufacture, but the entire watch industry.
This year, the Reverso celebrates 90 years with what we’re told will be an exciting line-up of new timepieces. But before the big reveals that will undoubtedly be the highlight of collectors’ calendars, Jaeger-LeCoultre teased us with a limited edition burgundy red stunner that we saw at the end of last year.
A two-time zone complication, the Reverso Tribute Duoface Fagliano features, as its name suggests, two dials with a different time zone on each. At the front, a mesmerising shade of red evokes the finest vintage wines, complete with a lacquered finish to draw you in with a hypnotic allure. Applied pink gold hour markers and Dauphine hands match perfectly the new 18K pink gold case, which plays off the red dial beautifully.
On the back, Clous de Paris guillochage graces the dial while providing a textured contrast to the opaline finish on the time display and day/night indication. For the ultimate in discretion, a small slider is set into the top case band, invisible to the wearer until the case is pushed out from the carriage.
Completing the look is a custom strap from renowned Argentinian polo boots maker, Casa Fagliano. Specially handmade by master craftsmen, the two-tone cordovan leather and canvas strap is evocative of canvas-and-leather boots made for summer polo.
While initially created with polo players in mind, the Reverso has certainly evolved to become a classic in its own right. Limited to 190 pieces, the boutique-exclusive Reverso Tribute Duoface Fagliano is just the start of what we can expect from the Swiss watchmaker in the year to come. And if it’s anything to go by, the upcoming releases look to be red-hot too.
