Jacob & Co. stunned the horological cognoscenti in 2014 with the Astronomia, the world’s first vertically built triple-axis tourbillon watch. Its original design mesmerises with its three-dimensional movement showing off the tourbillon, hours and minutes dial, spinning “Jacob-cut” spherical diamond, and rotating hand-painted globe, all completing a turn around the dial every 20 minutes. Just in case one wishes to see more of this mechanical marvel, it is now also available in a sapphire crystal case that took the brand 15 months to develop. Limited to nine pieces, it comes in rose or white gold, with the latter set with diamonds.
