Best Women's Watches 2019
Five of our favourite feminine timepieces.
Breguet Reine de Naples Ref. 8918
Originally created for Napoleon’s sister, Caroline Murat, the Reine de Naples watch has seen many iterations over the years but this is possibly our favourite so far. The mother-of-pearl dial is paired with a clou de Paris centre, while 117 brilliant-cut diamonds circle the oval white gold bezel and flange, with a pear-shaped diamond replacing the six o’clock marker. A ruby cabochon graces the crown at four o’clock complementing the burgundy indexes and leather strap.
The iconic Baignoire gets refreshed in 2019 in various sizes, but it’s still elegant as ever. The small model here is fashioned in white gold with 228 brilliant-cut diamonds set in two rows around the bezel, and an extra diamond atop the 18K white gold beaded crown. In keeping with the overall classy vibe, a slim navy alligator strap completes the look.
Chopard L’Heure du Diamant
We’re clearly not over the green dials trend of 2019 and neither is this sizzling number from Chopard. Employing a malachite (the stone du jour) dial, the watch features approximately four carats of diamonds around its 18K white gold case and is finished with a matching forest green leather strap and diamond-set buckle.
Harry Winston Premier Precious Micromosaic Automatic 36mm
When it comes to the art of mosaics, the Italian city of Ravenna is famed for having some of the best artisans. These craftsmen selected glass blocks in just the right colours, then put them through a tedious process of heating, cooling and cutting before they are arranged in the hypnotic pattern on this Premier Precious timepiece. Sprinkled with diamonds on the lugs, bezel and dial, this is one eye-catching ticker for year-end soirees.
What’s better than a splash of diamonds on the dial? A spiraling swirl of diamonds in various sizes across the entire dial, of course. Not only is the entire dial of this Patek Philippe beauty covered in bling, the case, bezel, crown and lugs are equally bedecked, bringing the total gem count to a staggering 770. Powered by the Calibre 240, the watch is water resistant to 30m but if you asked us, we wouldn’t risk it.
