Review: Blancpain – L’Evolution Tourbillon Carrousel

The carrousel is a Blancpain specialty that tends to elicit raised eyebrows from watch lovers.

And that’s because it looks similar to a tourbillon, and even purports to perform a similar function. The difference lies in in the way they are mounted. The tourbillon carriage is fixed to pinion driven by a wheel, while the carrousel carriage is mounted on a wheel driven by a pinion. On the sporty L-Evolution, both complications are paraded side-by-side on the dial. Besides adding aesthetic verve, both complications help double-up on timekeeping precision. Limited to 50 pieces.

Price: S$517,000 (includ GST)
