Watch aficionados, you don’t have to get on a plane to visit the Vallée de Joux.

Watches and whisky—it rarely gets better than this. That’s what 100 of The Hour Glass’ top VIPs enjoyed as they celebrated the unveiling of the new Audemars Piguet shop-in-shop at The Hour Glass’ Paragon boutique.

Over an exclusive cocktail session, guests were transported to Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux via the store’s interior combination of wood, metal and the idyllic landscapes of Le Brassus, home to Audemars Piguet. A selection of the brand’s vintage timepieces were on display and, next to them, a master watchmaker offered insights into the technical intricacies of a few movements from Audemars Piguet’s collection.

The Hour Glass at Paragon will also be home to exclusive Audemars Piguet models created especially for the retailer. This year, a limited edition Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon Chronograph (below) in 18K yellow gold is available with tourbillon at nine o’clock, and linear chronograph minute counter with central sweep-seconds hand. Finished with an alligator strap in royal green, the timepiece also comes in a diamond-set case and bezel. 

 

Those who enjoy the occasional drink will appreciate that the store is fitted with its own bar. Guests at the event also had the opportunity to sample a selection of fine sherry cask whiskies—a perfect complement to the horological buffet before them.
