Tudor 1926: Malaysia Price and Review

Tudor’s 1926 collection is a class act.

Tudor 1926

Amongst all the offerings in the Tudor stable, the 1926 collection stands out most for its elegant and timeless appeal, compared to the tool watch vibes of the Black Bays. This new collection appeals to both genders with sizes from 28mm to 41mm.

The collection is available in either an all-steel iteration, two-tone steel or rose gold version. The hands and markers are also varied depending on dial and case design with options including silver, gold or blue.

Featuring sleek sweeping lines and gently curved lugs, the 1926 collection is reminiscent of a time when watches were smaller and slimmer. Adding to the vintage appeal is a seven-link steel bracelet with polished inner links and satin-brushed outer links.

Positioned for accessibility, Tudor’s utilitarian and more cost-efficient offerings are made possible with third-party movements like those from ETA. Despite producing their own calibres in the last few years, Tudor chose to use ETA movements for the 1926 collection, giving it a more affordable price tag.

The larger 41, 39 and 36mm offerings use a self-winding mechanical ETA 2824 movement while the smaller 28mm model uses the ETA 2671 movement. Both are known to be robustly precise, with a standard 28,800bph rate and offer 38 hours of power reserve.

We think the 1926 collection works nicely as an entry point to Tudor, with its classy aesthetics. Clearly designed for men and women who appreciate a refined timepiece that’s reliable and elegant rather than a tool watch with a variety of functions, the 1926 is a proper dress watch that transitions well from the office to the gala dinner.
