Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duo: Malaysia Price and Review

Celebrating the 1930s with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s latest take on the Reverso.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duo
A celebrated icon of the 1930s, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is still as elegant and sophisticated as ever. Introduced in 1931 by the Swiss manufacture, the collection has expanded into a line of well-crafted timepieces sought after by many. This year’s collection sees the addition of two Reversos that hat doff the original—the Reverso Tribute Moon and Reverso Tribute Duo.

For this review, we look specifically at the Reverso Tribute Duo, a timepiece that gives an elegant interpretation of the classic with a pink gold case. The time-only front dial features a slightly granulated silvered surface which, despite having a rougher texture than most standard Reversos, comes across sleek and refined, with the texture giving it a bit of character. On the dial are bold applied gold markers and gold dauphine hands with a small seconds dial at six o’clock.

Flip it over and the watch reveals a different face with an anthracite-grey dial accentuated by the juxtaposition of two finishes – a Clous de Paris guilloché around the perimeter, and an opaline finish in the centre. On it are gold hour markers and hands with the day-night indicator at six o’clock. Mainly used to show a second time zone, this side can be adjusted by pushing a small slider, which is hidden at the top of the case. Each click advances the hour hand in one-hour increments and removes the need for any unsightly buttons that might clunk up this elegantly designed timepiece.

Inside the Reverso Tribute Duo is the reliable dual-time zone favourite—the manual-winding Calibre 854A/2 with a power reserve of 42 hours.

All in all, we couldn’t be happier with how this year’s Reverso Tributes turned out. If you’d like a more subdued and understated piece adorned with the Reverso DNA, you won’t go wrong with the Reverso Tribute Duo.
