Watch Of The Day: Patek Philippe Ref. 5372P Grand ComplicationWritten by Joshua Yap
Your one-minute primer to the Patek Philippe Ref. 5372P Grand Complication.
Between the 20th anniversary of the Aquanaut and the 40th birthday of the Calibre 240, Ref. 5372P unfortunately hasn't been receiving much attention since its 2017 launch. But it is truly deserving of your love, if not a place in your collection, as it presents a new interpretation of Patek Philippe's split-seconds chronograph with perpetual calendar. Fitted with a manual-winding in-house movement, its attractive 38.3mm platinum case features a concave bezel and satin-finished flanks, and its dial comes in blue with a sunburst pattern or rose gold with a vertical satin finish.
Though he wasn’t inducted into the world of watch journalism by choice, Joshua was hooked by mechanical horological wonders in no time. Although he personally favours modestly sized, no-nonsense timepieces, he sometimes misses the outrageous mind-bogglers of the pre-Credit Crunch years. As he dreams of owning a modern haute horlogerie watch one day, he’s currently content scouring the Internet for vintage value buys.
