Bell & Ross V2 AÉRONAVALE: Malaysia Price and Review

Written by

Definitely not feeling the blues with this one.

Known for their strong aviation aesthetics and history, Bell & Ross updates their Vintage collection with a sophisticated nod to the French Naval forces, better known colloquially as the Aéronavale.

Available in two versions—a three hand and a chronograph—both of them incorporate the combination of gold and navy, reflecting the prestige and elegance of the ceremonial uniform worn by the naval forces.

They also include the new and unique features of the updated 2017 Vintage collection with a flatter 41mm case, a screwed down crown and rotating steel bezel.

BR V1-92
The classic three-hand model above (BR V1-92) captures the quintessential aesthetics of an old-school pilot’s watch with its simplicity in design. The gold toned hands and markers brilliantly complement the rich blue starburst dial with radial brushing, which makes for an unassuming yet very distinctive piece to have on your wrist.

BR V2-94
As for the chronograph (BR V2-94), our favourite in the Aéronavale line, it features small seconds and 30-min timer counters on the dial. Once again, we just can’t get over how great the gold toned hands and brilliant blue dial complement each other. The chronograph adds a slightly more technical and militaristic appeal that is neither too cluttered nor over the top.

BR V2-94
In line with the rest of the Vintage models, the classic three-hands utilise the calibre BR-CAL 302 automatic movement while the chronograph uses the calibre BR-CAL 301. Both watches come in either an icy blue calfskin strap or a polished and satin steel bracelet (above) that makes for a sportier and contemporary look.

All in all, the Aéronavale is a great timepiece that’s well suited for those who seek something elegant but not too regal. The colour combo is a definite win and will add a cooler touch for those who want to rock a more casual look while still staying classy with a crisp clean suit. At this price point, it’s hard not to say no to this French beauty.
