100 Masterpieces: Sincere Fine Watches Presents A. Lange & SöhneWritten by Melissa Kong
Come meet A. Lange & Söhne’s finest.
From October 12 to 25, Sincere Fine Watches’ 100 Masterpieces will bring together 100 A. Lange & Söhne timepieces at Sincere’s flagship Takashimaya boutique in an unprecedented showcase of the German marque’s most significant creations.
The first four wristwatches created by A. Lange & Söhne in 1994. L-R: Saxonia, Lange 1, Arkade, Tourbillon 'Pour le Mérite'.
Sincere introduced the concept of ‘100’ in 2013 with ‘100 Tourbillons’—a world premiere that featured stunning tourbillon timepieces from 21 watch brands. Two years later, they followed up with a ‘100 Complications’ exhibition, displaying innovative complications from 22 watch brands.
This year’s ‘100 Masterpieces’ showcase is the retailer’s first featuring a single watch brand. Included in the display are the first four wristwatches created by A. Lange & Söhne when it was revived in 1994—a Lange 1, Arkade, Saxonia and Tourbillon ‘Pour le Mérite’. In addition, history buffs will be thrilled to get a glimpse of old pocket watches (above) from the brand’s archives, while fanboys can get up close to the latest pieces from the 2017 collection.
Visit '100 Masterpieces' from October 12 to 25 at Sincere Fine Watches Takashimaya Shopping Centre, #01-12, from 10.30am to 9.30pm daily.
Like most people these days, Melissa tells the time with her phone. She considers serious timepieces works of art and thinks the perpetual calendar is the handiest complication to date (pun not intended). She's also a Grammar Nazi but promises not to judge if you can't tell the difference between "guilloche" and "guillotine".
